TalkPlastic is a project aimed at raising awareness and changing habits.

The challenge is not about raising money, but there are some fantastic environmental projects in our home town of Melbourne that do need support in order to continue their wonderful work.

A St Kilda-based not-for-profit that works with communities, business and government to protect and enhance our living habitats, Port Phillip EcoCentre is heavily involved in plastic pollution research, auditing, advocacy and education. Its Life Support For The Bay campaign has seen the EcoCentre team up with RMIT biochemists to study microplastics and work to remove them from the marine environment. It has produced the Baykeeper’s documentary film in order to kick start community action against plastic pollution in Port Phillip Bay, They also coordinate community clean-ups of Melbourne’s streets, waterways and beaches.
